YouTube has introduced a new ‘Promote’ button for Shorts. This feature allows creators to run ad campaigns directly from YouTube Studio.
The platform is expanding its ad-buying tools, giving creators more ways to reach new audiences. With ‘Promote’, creators can launch ad campaigns without navigating Google Ads' complex setup.
The company claims that promoted Shorts will be automatically shown to viewers most likely to engage with the creator’s channel. This builds on an existing feature that was previously only available for long-form videos.
How the ‘Promote’ button works
Creators can promote a YouTube Short by clicking the three-dot menu next to their video and selecting ‘Promote.’ From there, they can set a budget and an end date for their campaign. The feature will be available in the Shorts tab and the Shorts shelf on the home tab for desktop users. It is already available on ‘video on demand’ (VOD) on Desktop.
