Apple’s upcoming Safari 18 update may come with a search feature that can find key topics and summarize web pages. Apple has been gathering website data for years through its Internet crawler and "Intelligent Search" could be a significant application, depending on how it is applied.

Apple is also reportedly working on “Web Eraser”. Which blocks webpage content such as advertising, videos, comments, and perhaps popups.

Apple is expected to announce Safari 18 on June 10 at WWDC.

TikTok argues that the law that seeks to force Bytedance to sell is unconstitutional and a breach of the free speech rights of its 170 million American users.

Under the law, if Bytedance refused to sell, app stores would be stopped from offering TikTok in the U.S. from January 2025

In the past, Instagram's ranking system has effectively given more reach to creators with larger followings. With a new algorithm change, Instagram will start pieces of content off with an equal chance.

Here is how ranking will work now:

  • Eligible content is shown to a small audience that Instagram thinks will enjoy it (regardless of whether they follow the account that posted it or not).

  • As this audience engages with the content, the top-performing set of Reels are shown to a slightly wider audience, and then the best of these are shown to an even wider group.

  • And so on

Originality will also now be prioritized. When Instagram finds identical pieces of content, Instagram with only recommend the original one.

There is no official announcement but a support article has been published by Google, which explains how PMax can help "drive more sales of your products using a marketplace".

Only select marketplaces will be compatible, and there is no express mention of Amazon.

Meta will begin recommending relevant content creators to brands within Instagram’s Creator Marketplace. The recommendations are based on a range of signals including audience and topic similarity.

Brands will have more flexibility and control of their TikTok Pulse with a new feature called Custom Lineups, where a brand can choose which kind of content to appear alongisde within TikTok Pulse’s inventory of the top 4% of videos on the platform.
