TikTok has launched a new ‘Manage Topics’ feature providing users with control over their For You feed. This update is rolling out to U.S. users and aims to display content based on individual preferences.

Previously, users had to manually enter keywords and hashtags to avoid certain types of content. This new feature now allows users to filter content directly from their settings.

TikTok said that this feature will not impact the content from accounts users follow, and it might take a while for the feed to adjust according to users' new settings.

How users can use TikTok's 'Manage Topics' feature

To use customize the For Your page, users can navigate to their settings, select “Content Preferences,” and then choose “Manage Topics.” Users will see a list of topics with sliders that can be adjusted to control how each topic appears in their feed, and they can decide if they want to see more or less content from various categories like dance, current affairs, or food.

Users can also click the “information” button next to a topic if they are unsure which videos fall under a specific category.
