LinkedIn is testing a new design for vertical videos in its main feed. Jake Poses, Product Lead for Feed Experience & Video, shared the update in a LinkedIn post. “We are exploring and testing a new look and feel for how vertical videos show up on the feed,” Poses said in a video.

“Starting today, as some of you scroll through feed, you'll see a larger, more prominent way of vertical videos showing up on feeds,” he added.

What’s new in the new video format?

The new design will display larger video panels between regular posts. Users can watch the videos in a feed and tap through. They can also decide to view videos in the immersive experience, Poses explained.

According to Poses, “This updated design puts video content front and center, making it easier for you to watch and engage with video.”

Creators do not need to change how they upload videos. Videos will automatically adapt to the new design as the feature rolls out. “Keep posting videos the same way you have been doing, and it will show up in the new experience,” he said.

Video content has become an important part of LinkedIn’s strategy. The platform recently rolled out a new 'Videos For You' tool similar to those on TikTok and Instagram. The The feature introduces full-screen video previews for users to watch more video content.

A recent study showed that LinkedIn video posts receive three times more impressions than text posts. In August, the platform reported that video content drives the most engagement, with a 34% increase in video uploads over the past year.
