LinkedIn has rolled out a new 'Videos For You' tool to enable users to watch more video content. The feature introduces full-screen video previews, similar to those on TikTok and Instagram.
This change highlights LinkedIn’s emphasis on video as a key feature, following its 34% surge in video uploads.
About the 'Videos For You' feature
Previously, LinkedIn began testing a dedicated video feed that provides a space for short-form videos. Now, the 'Videos For You' section will integrate video content into users' feeds, offering an opportunity to discover and engage with videos without leaving the main feed.
How the 'Videos For You' works
Videos are displayed in vertical thumbnails. As users scroll horizontally through their feeds, these thumbnails provide a quick glimpse of the content.
The new feature includes an auto-play function. When users scroll through, videos start playing automatically but with muted sound.
However, users can tap and expand the video to its full-screen mode If they decide to watch a video. Also, users can swipe up or down to explore additional videos in the same section or click the back arrow to return to their feed.
