Instagram tests a feature that offers a monthly summary of account performance
The goal is to enable creators and marketers to understand their content performance

Get Smarter at Marketing
Instagram is testing a monthly performance summary that provides insights into content performance. This new feature, reported by Social Media Today, delivers a snapshot of key metrics such as total views, top posts, and engagement trends directly through notifications.
Social Media Today shared a sample of the notification from a Threads post. Instagram already shows performance metrics in the appâs existing Insights tab. This new update is another way to give creators and marketers content insights. Brands will now get a monthly roundup pushed to them automatically, instead of having to find content data from the Insight tab. They could quickly access stats without going into the backend.
What the monthly recap includes and how it works
According to Social Media Today, the monthly summary covers various key performance indicators. These include the total number of views on your Reels and feed posts for the month, how those numbers compare to the previous month, and how much of that reach came from non-followers.
The ânon-follower reachâ metric could be important for brands and advertisers trying to expand beyond their existing audience. If a piece of content performs well with people who donât already follow a brand, that could be a sign itâs hitting the algorithm right.
The recap also calls out creators and brands' top-performing content of the month, so they could spot patterns or understand whatâs driving the most engagement.Â
Strategic insights and content suggestions
Instagramâs recap summary also includes recommendations. Users might see suggestions like optimal posting times based on when their audience was most active during the past month, along with content ideas and suggestions.
This could be a way for brands to get more insights from Instagram. If the app is showing what kind of content worked, when the audience was online, and how brandsâ reach changed over time, itâs handing marketers a lightweight strategy guide each month.
