Yesterday, Google announced that it had included dresses in its virtual "try-on" tool for U.S. users. “So today, just ahead of the fall season, we’re expanding virtual try-on to another wardrobe staple, and one of the most-searched apparel categories: dresses,” Google said.
Last year, Google launched its virtual try-on shopping feature, enabling users to see clothes on various models. Now, it has expanded this tool to allow shoppers to virtually try different styles and sizes of dresses on these models.Â
This feature spans multiple brands across Google's Shopping Graph, including Boden, SIMKHAI, Staud, Sandro, and Maje.Â
How users can use the Google’s virtual try-on feature
To use the virtual try-on tool, users can search for dresses and select styles with a "try-on" badge. This lets users view how dresses appear on models that best represent their body types and sizes.Â
After seeing a dress on a model, shoppers can proceed directly to the retailer’s website to complete their purchase.
