Google has begun rolling out campaign-level negative keywords in beta for Performance Max (PMax) campaigns on Google Ads. The update was confirmed by Google Ads Liaison, Ginny Marvin on X. Responding to a question from X user, Darcy Burk about the feature’s availability, Marvin said, "This has started rolling out in beta."
Google had initially announced the feature in October, with plans for a full rollout by the end of 2024. Now, Marvin has said that broader access for the update is expected in 2025.
How campaign-level negative keywords benefit advertisers?
Campaign-level negative keywords enable advertisers to exclude specific search terms across their campaigns. Google said the update will allow advertisers to refine their ad targeting by filtering out search terms that do not align with their products or services. It will give them more control over their ad campaigns, the platform said.
