Google is introducing a new AI-powered video generation tool for U.S. merchants. “Starting today, Product Studio now offers AI-powered video creation tools to help you effortlessly produce high-quality product videos,” Google announced.

How does Google’s video generation tool work?

According to the platform, this tool will allow advertisers to convert product images into videos. Advertisers can select specific products they want to showcase in a video and choose a style or theme.  Google’s AI will then automatically create a video based on that product.

Google said the feature will create videos aligned to a brand’s needs and product features. Brands can customize the videos by selecting themes, adding audio, and creating headlines based on their promotional needs. These videos can be used across various platforms, including Google Ads, Merchant Center, websites, and other marketing channels.

The feature is only available in the U.S., but Google plans to expand it to other countries.

Other platforms have also launched video generative tools using images or text prompts. Recently, Meta introduced ‘Movie Gen’ that enables users to upload images and transform them into videos.
