Google is making AI Overviews available to more countries in Europe. The rollout includes Austria, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland, with support for multiple languages, including English, German, Spanish, and Italian.

The move follows the company’s global expansion of AI Overviews, which it introduced in May 2024. In October, Google expanded the feature to over 100 countries worldwide, including some European countries like the UK.

AI Overviews is Google's AI-generated search feature that provides quick summaries of search queries. Instead of users scrolling through multiple links, Google generates an AI-written response at the top of the search results page.

Google is also testing AI Mode, a new search experience that provides deeper AI-powered interactions. But the tool is currently available to a few users in the U.S. and has yet to be introduced in Europe. Google claims that while AI Overviews generate quick summaries, AI Mode will allow users to ask follow-up questions and provide more advanced answers to searches.
