Google Lens has introduced a new feature that lets users access detailed product information while shopping in retail stores. The new tool lets shoppers take photos of any item to view prices, reviews, and inventory availability. Shoppers can also compare prices to check for competitive deals.

Users can tap the Lens icon in the Google Search bar to use this feature. The update is available on Android and iOS for U.S. users with their location turned on.

Previously, Google rolled out a Google Lens feature that displays product information during searches. During the rollout, it said that the tool would show reviews, price comparisons, and purchase locations directly on the results page.

Product search in Google Maps

Find Google Maps is also adding a feature that lets users search for specific products and find nearby stores carrying them. Google says the tool aims to help shoppers find relevant inventory in their area. It will roll out in the U.S. in the coming weeks.

Expanded payment options

Google Pay is also expanding its payment options by introducing ‘Afterpay’ and Klarna for checkouts.  Google will also add Discover as a virtual card option. Google claims these payment options are to keep users’ payment information safe.
