Google Lens has launched a new feature that displays product information on the results page. According to Google, “Starting this week, you’ll see an even more helpful results page that shows key information about the product you’re looking for, including reviews, price comparisons across retailers, and where to buy.”

The company explained that when users take a picture of a product, Google Lens will analyze it and provide information about the image. This tool is built on its advanced AI models along with its Shopping Graph, Google said.

How advertisers can benefit from the Google Lens feature

With this feature, advertisers can show shopping ads directly in Google Lens results by year-end. When users search for a product, they’ll see relevant ads from retailers alongside the information they need.

Businesses can reach interested shoppers when looking for products with Shopping ads, Google explained. It further explained that as users perform visual searches using Google Lens, their product listing ads will appear in the same format as in traditional text-based searches.

Advertisers don’t have to change or set up anything new to have their ads show up in the Google Lens feature. Shopping ads will automatically appear in the Google Lens results if they already have ads running through Google’s AI-powered Search ads, Shopping ads, or Performance Max campaigns.
